01:11 PM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed Tuesday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.9% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) retreating 1.1%.

In corporate news, McCormick ( MKC ) lowered its full-year earnings outlook on Tuesday amid rising commodity costs and incremental tariffs, even though the spices and seasonings producer reported fiscal Q3 results above analyst estimates. Its shares fell 1.3%.
