03:15 PM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Tuesday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.6% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) retreating 1.7%.
Redbook US same-store sales rose by 5.8% from a year earlier in the week ended Oct. 4 after a 5.9% year-over-year increase in the previous week.
In corporate news, Lamb Weston ( LW ) said Tuesday it opened a new 40,000-square-meter frozen potato production facility in Mar del Plata, Argentina, to serve customers in Latin America. Its shares were down 1%.
