01:13 PM EDT, 10/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks increased Friday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) adding 1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) up 0.5%.

In corporate news, AT&T ( T ) said that starting Dec. 1, the monthly price of all its home internet plans will rise by $5, The Verge reported Friday, citing a company notification to customers and a confirmation from a company spokesperson. AT&T ( T ) shares added 0.3%.
