In corporate news, Philip Morris ( PM ) and other tobacco stocks were lower in recent Monday trading after California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the City of New York, together with 23 other state attorneys general, sent a letter to Shopify (SHOP) urging the e-commerce platform to take action against merchants selling illegal tobacco products, particularly e-cigarettes. Philip Morris ( PM ) shares fell 2.4%, British American Tobacco (BTI) declined 0.5%, and Altria (MO) dropped 1.4%. Shopify shares were up 5.6%.
