09:02 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Thursday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) slightly declining and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.5%.

Dollar General ( DG ) shares were down more than 5% even after the company posted higher fiscal Q4 earnings and net sales.
