Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Friday

09:05 AM EST, 12/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing pre-bell Friday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) was up 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was 0.8% higher recently.

Lululemon athletica (LULU) shares were over 8% higher after the company reported a surge in fiscal Q3 earnings and revenue, and raised its guidance for fiscal 2024.

Ulta Beauty ( ULTA ) shares were up more than 10% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 earnings and net sales. The company also raised its fiscal 2024 earnings per share guidance.

Petco Health & Wellness (WOOF) shares rallied past 23% after the company reported a fiscal Q3 adjusted loss that narrowed year-over-year as net sales increased during the period.
