09:10 AM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks advanced pre-bell Wednesday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) up 0.7% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) 2.1% higher recently.

International Game Technology ( IGT ) shares were up more than 1% after the company said it received recertification from the World Lottery Association for its lottery and iLottery operations.

A Berry Global ( BERY ) wholly-owned subsidiary started an offer to exchange up to $1.6 billion of notes, the company said. Berry Global ( BERY ) shares were 0.7% higher premarket.

Bunge's (BG) $34 billion merger with Glencore-backed Viterra was conditionally approved by Canada's Transport Ministry on Tuesday. Bunge shares advanced by over 1% pre-bell.
