Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Wednesday

09:17 AM EDT, 05/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing pre-bell Wednesday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) recently up 0.1%.

Abercrombie & Fitch ( ANF ) shares were up more than 27% after the company reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and net sales that topped analysts' expectations.

Performance Food Group ( PFGC ) shares were up more than 3% after the company reiterated its fiscal 2025 outlook and announced a new $500 million share repurchase program.

Capri (CPRI) shares were down more than 1% after the company reported that it swung to a fiscal Q4 adjusted net loss as revenue declined during the period.
