Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Advance Premarket Tuesday

09:12 AM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing premarket Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) marginally higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) up 0.4%.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ( NCLH ) stock was 0.2% higher after the company said overnight it disclosed a new order for eight ships to be built by Italy's Fincantieri, representing about 25,000 more berths.

Hilton Grand Vacations ( HGV ) shares were down 0.1% after the company said late Monday it re-priced a $1.30 billion term loan B maturing Aug. 2, 2028.

Penske Automotive Group ( PAG ) said it plans to acquire two Porsche dealerships and a Ducati motorcycle dealership in Melbourne to expand its retail automotive operations into Australia. Penske Automotive Group ( PAG ) stock was nearly 2% lower in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
