Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Higher Pre-Bell Friday

09:10 AM EST, 11/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were higher pre-bell Friday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) was 0.2% higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was recently up 0.1%.

Airbnb ( ABNB ) shares fell past 6% after the company reported Q3 earnings below market expectations.

Bloomin' Brands ( BLMN ) shares were down more than 10% after the company reported lower fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue. The company also cut its outlook for 2024 adjusted earnings per share and US comparable restaurant sales.

DraftKings ( DKNG ) shares were down 0.3% after lowering its 2024 revenue guidance.
