Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Monday

09:08 AM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Monday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) unchanged and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) down 0.2% recently.

Vista Outdoor ( VSTO ) shares were 2.7% higher after the company said it received a roughly $2.01 billion alternative acquisition proposal for The Kinetic Group from a US investment firm. The company also said its board has rejected MNC Capital's unsolicited offer to acquire the company for $39.50 per share in cash.

DraftKings ( DKNG ) filed a registration statement Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the potential sale of its securities from time to time in one or more offerings. DraftKings ( DKNG ) shares were up more than 1% premarket.

Walmart's ( WMT ) Flipkart marketplace and PhonePe digital payments platform initial public offerings could take a "couple of years," Reuters reported, citing Dan Bartlett, Walmart's ( WMT ) executive vice president for corporate affairs. Walmart ( WMT ) shares advanced by over 1% pre-bell.
