Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Friday

09:14 AM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Friday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) down 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) declining by 0.4% recently.

Performance Food Group ( PFGC ) has drawn takeover interest from peer US Foods Holding (USFD) for a potential deal that would establish a food distribution company with about $100 billion in combined sales, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Shares of Performance Food Group ( PFGC ) were up more than 6% pre-bell.

Levi Strauss (LEVI) shares were up more than 7% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings and net revenue and raised its fiscal 2025 outlook.

PriceSmart ( PSMT ) shares were up more than 9% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 GAAP earnings and revenue.
