Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Thursday

09:19 AM EDT, 10/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Thursday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) easing 0.01% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) 0.5% lower.

Tesla (TSLA) shares were down more than 3% after the company posted lower adjusted Q3 earnings that also missed analysts' expectations.

Darling Ingredients ( DAR ) stock was up nearly 4% after the company reported higher Q3 earnings and revenue.

Simply Good Foods ( SMPL ) shares were down 9% after the company posted lower fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue.
