Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Tuesday

09:16 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Tuesday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) down 0.1%.

Albertsons ( ACI ) shares were down more than 1% after the company reported lower fiscal Q1 adjusted net income.

Tapestry (TPR) has invested an additional $15 million in recycled leather manufacturer Gen Phoenix, the companies said. Tapestry shares were 0.6% higher pre-bell.

The Wendy's Co. (WEN) stock was up 0.4% after the company said it signed two franchise agreements to develop up to 190 new restaurants across Italy and Armenia.
