Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Tuesday

09:08 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were leaning lower premarket Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) marginally declining.

McCormick ( MKC ) stock was down more than 1% after the company lowered its fiscal 2025 outlook for adjusted earnings per share.

Coty ( COTY ) shares were 0.9% lower after the company priced an offering of $900 million of 5.600% senior notes due 2031.

Mars' proposed acquisition of Kellanova ( K ) is set to receive unconditional EU antitrust approval, Reuters reported, citing three sources with direct knowledge of the matter. Kellanova ( K ) shares were 0.3% higher premarket.
