Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Friday

09:07 AM EST, 01/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Friday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) lower and The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) advancing 0.8%.

National Vision Holdings ( EYE ) shares were down more than 2% even after the company reported that preliminary data showed its fiscal Q4 net revenue from continuing operations rose 3.9% to $437 million from a year earlier. National Vision ( EYE ) also said Chief Financial Officer Melissa Rasmussen is departing.

FAT Brands ( FAT ) shares were up over 2% after the company said it has approved a special dividend comprising shares of Twin Hospitality Group, the operating unit for its Twin Peaks and Smokey Bones restaurant brands.
