Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Thursday

09:17 AM EDT, 05/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Thursday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) was 0.2% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was 0.7% higher recently.

Burlington Stores ( BURL ) shares were up more than 9% after the company reported higher fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue.

Kohl's (KSS) shares were advancing by 8% after the company reported a narrower fiscal Q1 loss.

Best Buy ( BBY ) shares were down more than 2% after the company reported lower fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and revenue and cut its fiscal 2026 outlook.
