Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Tuesday

09:12 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) down 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) 0.1% higher.

Designer Brands ( DBI ) shares were down more than 1% after the company reported a decline in fiscal Q2 net sales.

Unilever ( UL ) unit Magnum Ice Cream is targeting average annual organic sales growth of 3%-5% in the medium term from 2026 when it is spun off from the parent firm, the unit said. Unilever ( UL ) stock was down more than 1% premarket.

Norwegian Cruise Line's ( NCLH ) NCL subsidiary said it has priced an upsized $1.3 billion private offering of 0.750% exchangeable senior notes due 2030. Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCLH ) shares were 1% higher pre-bell.
