Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Wednesday

09:10 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Wednesday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) was 0.1% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was 0.3% higher recently.

General Mills ( GIS ) shares were down more than 3% after the company reported lower fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings and net sales.

Alibaba's (BABA) digital technology arm, Alibaba Cloud, entered a partnership with UAE-based streaming technology provider Hibrid to deliver advanced streaming and infrastructure services across the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council region, Hibrid said. Alibaba's shares were 0.2% higher premarket.

Walt Disney ( DIS ) -owned ESPN ( DIS ) is acquiring a minority stake in the Premier Lacrosse League, media outlets reported. Shares of Walt Disney ( DIS ) were down around 0.1% pre-bell.
