Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Premarket Thursday

09:16 AM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed in Thursday's premarket hours with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) 0.1% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) recently up 1.1%.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) is removing Princi brand baked goods at its high-end Roastery and Reserve cafes, Bloomberg reported, citing an internal memo. Starbucks ( SBUX ) shares were up over 2% pre-bell.

CarMax ( KMX ) shares fell by more than 6% after the company reported fiscal Q2 revenue of $7.01 billion, down from $7.07 billion a year earlier.

American Outdoor Brands ( AOUT ) shares were up more than 2% after the company's board approved a $10 million share repurchase program effective through Sept. 30 2025.
