Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Premarket Thursday

09:04 AM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) up 0.4% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) 0.4% lower.

Lovesac ( LOVE ) shares were down 22% after the company reported a wider fiscal Q3 net loss as net sales fell during the period and also lowered its fiscal 2025 outlook.

Chewy (CHWY) stock was more than 2% lower after the company said an underwritten public offering of about 15.9 million Class A common shares by Buddy Chester Sub has been priced.

Walmart's ( WMT ) financial technology venture One has scored a $2.5 billion valuation as the company is leading a funding round of more than $300 million alongside investment firm Ribbit Capital, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Walmart ( WMT ) shares were up 0.4% premarket.
