Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Premarket Thursday

09:09 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) 0.3% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) up 0.5%.

Darden Restaurants ( DRI ) stock was down more than 7% after the company reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings that missed analysts' expectations.

Amer Sports ( AS ) shares were up nearly 6% after the company said it now expects Q3 year-over-year revenue growth in the upper 20%, compared with its previous projection of about 20% growth.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store ( CBRL ) stock was down more than 6% after the company posted lower fiscal Q4 adjusted net income and revenue.
