09:10 AM EST, 01/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were higher pre-bell Wednesday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLP ) rose by 0.6% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLY ) was slightly higher.

Procter & Gamble ( PG ) shares were up more than 3% after the company reported higher fiscal Q2 core earnings and net sales.

Netflix ( NFLX ) shares were up more than 14% after the company reported higher Q4 earnings and revenue.

Royal Caribbean Group (RCL) said it signed an agreement with Chantiers de l'Atlantique to order a sixth Edge series luxury liner for its celebrity cruises brand. Royal Caribbean Group shares were down 0.6% pre-bell.
