The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares ( FAS ) was slightly higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares ( FAZ ) was down 0.1%.

Runway Growth Finance ( RWAY ) said it has agreed to acquire SWK Holdings ( SWKH ) for around $220 million in cash and stock. Shares of SWK Holdings ( SWKH ) were up more than 21% premarket.

Carlyle (CG), in a partnership with the Qatar Investment Authority, has agreed to acquire BASF's automotive and surface treatment coatings businesses at an enterprise value at 7.7 billion euros ($8.91 billion), the companies and the sovereign wealth fund said in a joint statement. Carlyle Group ( CG ) shares were down more than 1% pre-bell.

JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) is mandating employees to share their biometric data, including fingerprints or eye scans, to access the company's new headquarters in Manhattan, the Financial Times reported, citing internal emails. JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) stock was 0.2% higher premarket.
