The Philadelphia Semiconductor index advanced 0.9%.
In corporate news, DarkIris (DKI) shares surged 31% in their Nasdaq debut after the company priced its initial public offering of 1.5 million class A shares at $4 apiece.
Gen Digital ( GEN ) shares jumped past 7% after some analysts, including from RBC and Wells Fargo, raised their price targets on the stock following its fiscal Q1 earnings and revenue beat.
SoundHound AI ( SOUN ) is likely to see robust demand this year throughout all verticals as it remains an "under-appreciated pure-play" AI firm, Wedbush said in a Friday note. SoundHound AI ( SOUN ) reported a narrower Q2 adjusted loss and higher revenue in addition to lifting its 2025 sales outlook. Its shares surged 26%.
Trade Desk's ( TTD ) narrative has "turned cautious" as it faces rising competitive intensity, primarily from Amazon (AMZN) DSP, Wedbush said in a Friday note. Trade Desk ( TTD ) shares tumbled 38%.
