Select Medical Appoints New CEO

04:58 PM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Select Medical Holdings ( SEM ) said late Tuesday that it has appointed Thomas Mullin as chief executive officer, succeeding David Chernow, who will become vice chairman of the board.

Mullin recently served as co-president overseeing 140 critical illness recovery and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, it said.

Additionally, John Saich, most recently a co-president, was named sole president, and John Duggan has been named executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary, the firm said.
