09:35 AM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sempra's ( SRE ) Sempra Infrastructure unit said Thursday it has decided to develop, build and operate the Cimarron wind project.
The 320-megawatt project is contracted under a 20-year power purchase agreement to Silicon Valley Power to provide energy to the City of Santa Clara in California, the company said.
Capital expenditures are expected to be $550 million and the facility is targeted to start generating power in late 2025, according to Sempra Infrastructure.
The Cimarron project is the third phase of the Energia Sierra Juarez wind complex and will bring the total installed capacity of the complex to over 580 megawatts, Sempra Infrastructure said.
