07:40 AM EDT, 07/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- SES AI (SES) said Monday it entered into a definitive agreement to fully acquire energy storage systems provider UZ Energy for around $25.5 million, subject to earnout adjustment based on the achievement of specified financial targets.

The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter, SES said.

SES said the acquisition aims to expand its Molecular Universe platform with the integration of UZ Energy's hardware, real world data and marketing and sales channels.

UZ Energy, which designs and manufactures energy storage system products, has deployed more than 500 megawatt hours of ESS, the company said. With the explosive demand from AI data centers, the need for high-performance ESS is growing.
