Shell Flags $600 Million Hit in Q3 Due to Rotterdam Project Cancellation
Oct 7, 2025 2:19 AM

04:54 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL) said Tuesday it expects roughly $600 million in noncash posttax impairments and provisions in Q3 due to the cancellation of its Rotterdam HEFA project in the Netherlands.

The oil giant said in September that it would not restart construction of the Rotterdam biofuels plant after a thorough commercial and technical evaluation.

Shell said Tuesday it now expects Q3 liquefied natural gas production in the range of 7 million to 7.4 million tons, up from its prior range of 6.7 million to 7.3 million tons.

The company is scheduled to report Q3 results Oct. 30.
