Shell Invests in Waterflood Project at Gulf of Mexico Asset

12:17 PM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL) unit Shell Offshore said Wednesday it made a final investment decision on a waterflood project at its Vito asset in the US Gulf of Mexico that will inject water into the reservoir formation to displace additional oil.

Set to start in 2027, the process is expected to enhance the capacity at the Vito field by by 60 million barrels of oil equivalent, Shell said.
