01:39 PM EST, 02/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Shenandoah Telecommunications ( SHEN ) said Thursday it recently extended high-speed, gigabit internet service in Virginia and plans more expansion.

The $47 million construction project brought service to roughly 5,000 additional homes in Shenandoah County, with a further 2,000 homes targeted by the end of the year.

The project was funded through Virginia Telecommunication Initiative, the company's own capital and a contributions from the county, the company said.
