Shopify Leverages Agentic Storefronts to Facilitate Direct Purchases From ChatGPT

12:45 PM EDT, 03/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Shopify ( SHOP ) said Tuesday it will allow ChatGPT users to shop from the company's merchants directly via its agentic storefronts, starting this week.

Users can browse products using the Shopify Catalog, and place orders using an in-app browser, while those using ChatGPT on desktop will be rerouted to the merchant's store in a new browser tab, according to a statement.

Storefronts offer merchants access to AI channels, centrally managed from the Shopify Admin, making their products discoverable in ChatGPT without separate integrations, apps, or transaction fees beyond standard rates, according to the company.
