July 2 (Reuters) - Germany's Siemens AG has
received a notice from the U.S. government saying that export
restrictions on chip design software for China have been lifted,
Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing a statement from
the company.
Siemens has restored complete access to its software and
technology for customers in China, Bloomberg reported.
The German company and the U.S. Department of Commerce did
not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
In May, the U.S. ordered several companies including
Siemens' EDA unit, Cadence and Synopsys ( SNPS ) to
obtain licenses before exporting goods, such as design software
and chemicals for semiconductors, to China.
