SIGA Technologies Wins $9 Million Antiviral Drug Procurement Contract From Defense Department

04:47 PM EDT, 08/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- SIGA Technologies ( SIGA ) said Wednesday it received a roughly $9 million order from the US Department of Defense for its antiviral drug TPOXX, also known as tecovirimat.

The order comprises mainly oral TPOXX and a small amount of intravenous TPOXX intended to protect military personnel against orthopoxvirus risks, such as smallpox, the pharmaceutical company said.

SIGA ( SIGA ) said the procurement contract award is its third from the defense department over the past three years.
