10:51 AM EDT, 04/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sight Sciences ( SGHT ) said Monday it has received a jury trial verdict of $34 million related to the patent-infringement case it filed in September 2021 against Alcon ( ALC ) in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.

The eyecare technology company said that it has asserted that Alcon's ( ALC ) sale of the Hydrus Microstent for glaucoma surgery "infringed three key patents."

The verdict is subject to appeal, Sight Sciences ( SGHT ) said.

Sight Sciences ( SGHT ) shares rose 13.6% in recent trading, while Alcon ( ALC ) was up 0.8%.

Alcon ( ALC ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
