07:57 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Sight Sciences ( SGHT ) said Tuesday its Omni system will be included in UnitedHealthcare's expanded coverage of glaucoma surgical treatments starting Oct. 1.
The update applies to commercial and individual exchange benefit plans covering about 30 million members, the company said.
UnitedHealth's ( UNH ) UnitedHealthcare will cover goniotomy, trabeculotomy, canaloplasty, and combined canaloplasty and trabeculotomy for patients 19 years and older with mild to moderate open-angle glaucoma and cataract being treated with ocular hypotensive medication, Sight Sciences ( SGHT ) said.
The Omni system is cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration for canaloplasty followed by trabeculotomy to lower eye pressure in adult patients with glaucoma, the company said.
