04:40 PM EST, 12/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sigma Lithium ( SGML ) after trade Monday said that it has exceeded its fourth-quarter production target, producing around 75,000 tonnes, and achieved a total of about 240,000 tonnes in production and sales for the year.

The company said that it is on track to surpass its 2025 production target of 270,000 tonnes given its performance and focus on sustainable growth.

"Our Greentech Industrial Plant is delivering lithium materials that are aligned with the ethos of the consumers of the electric vehicles," Chief Executive Ana Cabral said, adding that, "in 2025, we are well-positioned to exceed expectations and bring continued growth and shared prosperity to our region."

SGML lost near 2% in both Canada and the United States today.
