Simmons First National CEO George Makris Jr. to Retire; Jay Brogdon Named as Successor

08:38 AM EDT, 08/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Simmons First National ( SFNC ) said Monday that George Makris Jr. is set to retire from his role as chief executive and chairman of the company and its Simmons Bank unit at the end of the year.

Jay Brogdon, who is the current president of both entities, will also serve as CEO and join the boards of directors, effective Jan. 1, the company said.

Simmons also said current director Marty Casteel will become chairman of both entities starting on Jan. 1. Casteel was formerly chairman, CEO and president of Simmons Bank.

The company's shares were up over 1% in recent premarket activity.
