Simulations Plus to Research Animal-Free Safety Assessment of New Chemicals

10:30 AM EDT, 07/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Simulations Plus ( SLP ) on Thursday announced a new research project with the International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety, or ICCS, to assess physiologically-based kinetic, or PBK, modeling to further animal-free scientific methods for cosmetics and non-pharmaceutical ingredients.

The company said it will analyze data from ICCS, choose target-source pairs using similarity criteria, create PBK models for source chemicals, and use these models to predict exposure for target chemicals in virtual populations.

The findings and recommended practices will be published, the company added.

Shares of Simulations Plus ( SLP ) rose by more than 4% in recent trading activity.
