06:12 AM EST, 03/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Servers linked to a fraud case in Singapore may have included Nvidia ( NVDA ) chips and were supplied by Dell Technologies ( DELL ) and Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) to local companies before being delivered to Malaysia, multiple news outlets reported Monday, citing Singapore's Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam.
Three individuals, one of whom is a Chinese national, are accused of misrepresenting the servers' end-users, and authorities are investigating whether the servers were sent to other destinations beyond Malaysia, the outlets said.
The investigation comes amid concerns that Nvidia ( NVDA ) chips, restricted under US export regulations, may have been routed to Chinese AI company DeepSeek through intermediaries in Singapore, the media sources.
Singapore has reportedly requested clarification from US authorities on whether the servers contained controlled items and emphasized that the investigation was initiated independently following an anonymous tip.
Nvidia ( NVDA ), Dell, and Super Micro Computer ( SMCI ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
