Skechers Sues LL Bean, Alleging It Copied Shoe Design
Jul 16, 2024 10:53 AM

01:22 PM EDT, 07/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Skechers (SKX) has sued LL Bean, alleging the apparel company copied its shoe design and infringed on its patents.

In a lawsuit filed Monday with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, the footwear company accused LL Bean of selling shoes with the same heel design as its patented heel cup.

The company went on to allege LL Bean only entered the market after Skechers had "incurred the substantial risk and monumental expense of developing and promoting its shoes with these heel cup designs, and established that they had broad appeal."

Skechers is seeking damages for LL Bean's alleged infringement of its patents, the lawsuit said.

LL Bean did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
