Smith Micro Software Seeks SEC Approval to Withdraw Proposed Stock Offering; Shares Surge Premarket

05:30 AM EDT, 09/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Smith Micro Software ( SMSI ) filed a request with the US Securities and Exchange Commission late Monday to allow the company to withdraw its registration statement for a common stock and warrants offering.

Shares of the company jumped more than 65% in premarket activity Tuesday.

The company "seeks withdrawal of the registration statement" because it has decided not to purchase the offering "at this time," it said in the filing.

In a preliminary prospectus filed on Aug. 7, the company unveiled plans for the proposed common stock and warrants offering without disclosing its size.
