Nov 5 (Reuters) - SoftBank Group Corp explored

a potential takeover of U.S. chipmaker Marvell Technology ( MRVL )

earlier this year, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday

citing people familiar with the matter.

SoftBank made overtures to Marvell ( MRVL ) several months ago, but

the two sides couldn't reach an agreement on terms, the report

added.
