12:22 PM EST, 11/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Sonoco Products Company ( SON ) said Monday it is merging its Metal Packaging and Rigid Paper Containers units into one business under two geographies, Consumer Packaging Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) - and Consumer Packaging the Americas.

Sean Cairns was named president of EMEA and APAC, and Ernest Haynes will lead the Americas, both reporting to chief executive officer Howard Coker. The company expects the transition to be completed in Q1 2026.
