06:03 AM EDT, 08/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sony Block Solutions Labs, a subsidiary of Sony Group ( SONY ) , announced the development of Soneium, a blockchain network intended to support Web3 applications, according to a statement from the electronics maker.

The company plans to make the network available to the public and aims to attract app developers in sectors including entertainment, gaming and finance.

Sony ( SONY ) said it will provide comprehensive Web3 solutions from the infrastructure to the application layer, rather than just providing partial services.

The company is also planning to soon release a testnet for app developers to co-create applications using Soneium's technology.
