12:57 PM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- SoundHound AI ( SOUN ) said Friday that its voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT will be available on Stellantis' ( STLA ) DS Automobiles in Japan starting March.

SoundHound Chat AI has been designed to allow vehicle occupants to use hands-free voice control and uses technology that cuts down the risk of misleading and unpredictable responses often associated with some large language models, the company said.

DS Automobiles became the first automaker to go into full production with SoundHound Chat AI at the beginning of March, naming the voice assistant Iris, the company added.

Shares of SoundHound AI ( SOUN ) fell past 9%, while Stellantis ( STLA ) was marginally down in recent trading activity.
