SEOUL, Jan 28 (Reuters) - SK Innovation's
battery unit SK On plans to begin battery production at its
Tennessee plant in 2028, the company said during a post-earnings
conference call on Wednesday.
In December, SK On said on Thursday that it had decided to
end its joint venture with Ford Motor ( F ) for their joint
battery factories in the U.S. as part of a business overhaul to
focus on growth areas like energy storage systems.
Under the arrangement, Ford will take full ownership of the
battery plants in Kentucky, while SK On will assume full
ownership and operate the Tennessee plant.
