SEOUL, Jan 28 (Reuters) - SK Innovation's

battery unit SK On plans to begin battery ‌production at its

Tennessee plant ​in 2028, the company ‍said during a ⁠post-earnings

conference call ⁠on Wednesday.

In December, SK ‌On said ​on Thursday that it had decided to

end ⁠its ‍joint ​venture with Ford Motor ( F ) for their joint

battery factories ‍in the U.S. as part of a business overhaul to

focus on growth areas ​like ‍energy storage systems.

Under the arrangement, Ford ​will take full ownership of the

battery plants in Kentucky, while SK On will assume full

ownership and ​operate the Tennessee plant.
