Southern's Georgia Power Gets $160 Million Funding From Department of Energy

11:02 AM EDT, 10/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Southern Company's ( SO ) Georgia Power unit said Monday that it has been awarded more than $160 million in funding by the Department of Energy through its Grid Deployment Office.

The company said it will deploy new grid-enhancing technologies including dynamic line rating technology and reconductoring of high voltage power lines with the funding.
