Space-tech startups Pixxel, Agnikul sign agreements with department of space
Dec 4, 2020 11:22 AM

Two space-tech startups have become among the first to sign agreements with the Department of Space after the government opened the sector to private participation earlier this year.

Private satellite-imaging company Pixxel entered into an agreement with Newspace India Ltd under the Department of Space to launch Pixxel's first remote-sensing satellite on an Indian Space Research Organization PSLV rocket in early 2021.

Chennai-based space-tech startup Agnikul Cosmos has also signed an agreement with the Department of Space, under which it will get access to the facilities and technical expertise at the ISRO.

To talk about these important developments, CNBC-TV18 caught up with Srinath Ravichandran, CEO of Agnikul and Awais Ahmed, CEO of Pixxel.

Also, watch Prashanth Chandrasekar, CEO of Stack Overflow talk about the $85 million that the company raised in a series-E funding from a clutch of investors to expand the SaaS product.
