02:03 PM EDT, 05/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spanish Mountain Gold ( SPAZF ) on Tuesday said it partnered with Austrian technology group Andritz and BC Hydro (British Columbia's utility company) to reduce the carbon intensity of its proposed Spanish Mountain Gold ( SPAZF ) project in the Cariboo Gold Corridor near Likely, B.C. through the use of simulation software.
Andritz's software will allow Spanish Mountain Gold ( SPAZF ) to analyze energy consumption for greenfield operations, optimize process flowsheets, and predict power demand accurately. It can also be used to accurately support water management programs.
The simulation software can also be used to train local operators, the statement said.
"Through this partnership, our aim is to redefine the mining industry's approach to energy generation, consumption, and environmental responsibility by lowering carbon intensity to ensure we build the greenest gold processing facility in the industry," chief executive Peter Mah said in a release.
Spanish Mountain shares were last seen up $0.005 to $0.20 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
